Jennifer Leonard is Penn Carey Law’s Chief Innovation Officer and Executive Director of the Future of the Profession Initiative (FPI). She advances the law school’s cutting-edge educational and thought leadership efforts by developing projects that educate law students and alumni about the skills and knowledge lawyers need to thrive in a rapidly shifting professional landscape.
FPI additionally identifies opportunities to engage Penn Carey Law students and creative thinkers from across disciplines in designing solutions that make broader legal systems accessible to clients and civil litigants. Leonard teaches Innovation in Practice: Design Thinking for Legal Professionals.
Before assuming her current role, Leonard served as Associate Dean for Professional Engagement and Director of the Center on Professionalism at Penn Carey Law. She previously served as Chief of Staff to the City Solicitor of Philadelphia, as well as a litigation associate with a Center City Philadelphia law firm and as a judicial law clerk.
Leonard graduated from Penn Carey Law in 2004 and from Penn State University, with high honors, in 2000.
