Mike Guernon has been providing Am Law 100 law firms with legal ethics and technology solutions for the past 23 years. He is currently the Senior Global Director of Intake for Risk and Compliance at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, an international law firm.
Deploying workflows for intake, international compliance (AML, OFAC, etc), lateral hiring, and data management, Guernon has a led a team focused on faster process while keeping pace with ethical requirements. By combining state-of-the-art tools and efficient protocols, Guernon has been able to increase compliance and lessen the administrative burden on attorneys.
Guernon is a frequent presenter to risk training and peer programs, and helped create the Bay Area Conflicts Group, a peer group in the Bay Area. Residing in beautiful Sonoma County, Guernon teaches practical ethics for local paralegal programs. For a change of pace, he referees lacrosse or plays an occasional hockey game.
Guernon holds bachelor degrees in English and political science from Rhode Island College, and a master’s degree in political science from Chico State.
