Iris Jones joined McNees in early 2015 as the Chief Business Development and Chief Marketing Officer. Reporting to the Chairman, Jones leads the firm’s business development and marketing team in delivering proactive strategy, service, and high-level support to the firm and its attorneys.
Jones works closely with firm management and members to expand the firm’s business by strengthening relationships with existing clients. She and her team provide analytical business development and strategic support for identifying and capturing new business and expanding existing relationships. Skilled in designing solutions based on analytical needs assessment, Jones directs complex projects from concept to fully operational status. Her strengths are effective in team building, strategic planning, and execution. She is a highly capable project director and manager who has extensive experience in coaching, training, and providing business development strategic support to all levels of stakeholders.
Jones serves on the firm’s diversity committee, professional development and education committee, and the future’s committee. She is also a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Legal Marketing Association (LMA). Jones was Co-Chair of the first LMA Diversity and Inclusion Task Force and served as Co-Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion SIG. She has also served as a panelist at numerous LMA Annual conferences and LMA Regional Chapter events.
Prior to serving as Chief Business Development and Marketing Officer for other Am Law 100 firms in DC and New York, Jones practiced law in Texas in both the public and private sectors. She gained extensive litigation and appellate practice experience while serving as an Assistant Attorney General of Texas and Director of the City of Austin’s Law Department.
October 2020 Iris was inducted as a 2020 Fellow in the College of Law Practice Management (COLPM).
