Argentum is an asset manager investing exclusively in private equity funds, specializing in Nordic and Northern European funds. The company was established in 2001 by the Norwegian government with the aim of delivering competitive returns and creating a more well-functioning capital market for unlisted companies. Today, Argentum is also managing assets for professional investors, e.g. pension funds, foundations, and family offices and is consequently one of the largest investors in Nordic private equity. Argentum’s core expertise is evaluating and selecting private equity funds and fund managers within both the venture and buyout segments.
Since its inception, Argentum has invested close to 1.4 bn EUR in more than 170 funds and over 900 companies. The company has an average yearly return of 15.1 percent. Offices are located in Bergen and Oslo with 24 employees in total.
